The math of cooking perfect rice

Rice is the kitchen “war horse”. It is a perfect side dish for meat, vegetables, it can prepared warm or cold and also, it is an excellent main course.

Tips to make a perfect rice

When making rice, the most common measure is 1 cup of rice per  2 cups of water or broth. If  you notice that during the cooking process the rice becomes dry, you can add more boiling broth or water.

  • If you want a rice in broth, you should add more liquid. The suitable proportion would be 2 ½ of liquid per cup of rice
  • Rice should be poured in water or broth, as soon as it is boiling.Then, rice should be stirred up and heat should be high as it can boil as soon as possible. 
  • The cooking time of white rice tend to take 20 minutes, this vary sometimes depending on the type of rice you cook.
  • Once it is ready, turn the heat off and let it sit from 5 to 10 minutes, covered with a clean cloth. Rest is important to reach the exact point.
  • Besides, rice is rich in vitamins, easy to digest and contrary to what many people think, rice does not make you earn weight.
