Taking care of oily skin

Oily skin can be easily identified, as it presents a shiny face, oily to the touch and big and open pores. Oily skins tend to produce more sebum than other types of skin, and the appearance of acne or blackheads occurs due to the fact that the pore hole is blocked because of this excess fat.

The specific products for oily skin make secretions balance and be absorbed, so you will be able to show a healthy complexion, and what it is more, your make up will last longer.
The most suitable products for this kind of skin are those facial moisturizing and oil- free soaps or gels, better if they have fruit acids because they promote the peeling of the cells and they absorb the pores` excess fat.

What should you avoid if you have oily skin?

  • Using too oily facial products because they block the pores and make pimples appear.
  • Sun exposure, as it can accelerate fat production, so tanning should be forbidden if you do not have the appropriate sun protection.
  • Moisturizing lotions should be specifically for oily skin, because other lotions tend to be too creamy.
  • Removing whiteheads or pimples, as they can be infected. You should treat them with specific products or visit a dermatologist if it turns a serious problem.
  • Touching your face or removing the excess fat with the hands. Always use a handkerchief.

How to keep and take care of oily skin

In order to reach a shine-free face, without blackheads and pimples, you should take into account the following tips:

  • Exfoliate your face twice a week with a specific product for this kind of skin.
  • Use light make up (not oily). A good option is a matt compact powder.
  • Always sleep with the hair drawn back and change the pillowcase twice a week, so that the facial excess fat remaining in the pillowcase do not make the pores get dirty and run the risk of being infected.
  • The cleansing lotions should be specifically for oily skin and they should be removed with plenty of water.

Special care

People who suffer from oily skin should follow a skin care schedule, so that the skin can be fresh and healthy. Some of these skin cares are daily, others are weekly, but it is important to get into the habit of carrying them out periodically.

The most important daily care is the one carried out in the morning and in the evening. The first thing you should do, as soon as you get up, is to remove all the impurities from the face you got while sleeping. In the evening, you should repeat the treatment again.

Once a month, you should carry out a deeper cleaning following these steps.
