Pasta frola cake is from the most traditional bakery from our land. It is ideal for informal meetings, picnic afternoons or simply to regale the family.

Preparing a pasta frola is very easy; their ingredients are accessible to any pocket and already are at almost every home.
Flour, eggs, sugar, and fresh quince are enough to make this exquisite cake, and our children can help putting the traditional lattice strips over the cake.

Pasta frola cake ingredients:
- 1 cup of sugar.
- 100 gr. of butter.
- 2 eggs.
- 400 gr. of rising flour.
- 500 gr. of fresh quince.
How to make pasta frola
Mix the butter with the sugar, add first one egg, mix again and then, add the other one. Mix again.
Gradually, incorporate the flour and knead until you get a dough nor to stiff or to soft (if the dough is hard, add some milk or water). Take aside a part from the dough to make the lattice strips that goes over the cake. Stretch with your hands the remaining dough and cover a baking dish previously buttered and floured.
Put the fresh quince chopped into a small pan, put the pan on the fire and then add some tablespoons of hot water. When the quince is well melted, spread it over the dough covering it totally.

With the dough we already had aside, make some strips and put them over the quince, making a lattice.
Take the cake into a pre heated oven; moderate temperature, for about 35 minutes or until the dough gets golden. Take out from the oven, leave the cake gets cold and enjoy this exquisite bakery.
