How to make a homemade cheesecake

The cheesecake is a very famous and irresistible sweet pie or dessert. In this article, you will find a very simple and classic recipe to make a homemade cheesecake.

Classic Cheesecake Recipe

Cheesecakes are really delicious. There are light desserts, chosen by people of different ages; and contrary to what their name says, it’s a very sweet and delicious dessert. So, let´s learn how to make a classic cheesecake, delicious and easy to make. 


You will need ½ cup of cookie crumbs (vanilla or chocolate cookies, as you prefer, well ground), 3 tablespoons of melted butter and a ¼ white sugar to make the base of the pie dough. This recipe is for a 12 portions cheesecake.

For the cheesecake filling, you will need 600 grs of white cheese or cream cheese, a can of condensed milk, 4 eggs, 2 or 3 tablespoons of flour, 200 grs of sour cream (optional) and a dash of lemon juice, together with its grating.

Finally, you will need a jam made of red fruits to cover the cake, although, you can make a cheesecake of different flavors.                                                                                                                                              

As regards the cooking material, you will need a removable baking cake mold, a spacious mixer, a grater, a tablespoon and much dedication to reach the most delicious preparation.

How to make the base dough of the cheesecake

First of all, let the butter melt in a pan and store it while you crush the cookies until dust. After that, mix the cookies with the sugar and add the melted butter slowly. You should reach an homogeneous dough (a little dry), and  place it in little portions in the cake mold, previously buttered and floured. Place the dough by putting pressure with the palm of the hands or with the back of the spoon. 

Prepare the cake´s base and side walls in the mold and store in the fridge until it gets cold and a bit hardened, while you preheat the oven to 180ºC. Once it reaches the temperature, let the dough in the oven from 6 to 8 minutes to get good consistency. Then, remove it and let it cool.  

How to make the cheesecake filling

Place the white cheese or the cream cheese in bowl with the condensed milk and mix all with the mixer. Then, add the eggs one by one and the flour sifted with a tablespoon to avoid lumps forming. After that, add the grated lemon and its juice. Once the preparation is homogeneous, pour the filling over the cookie dough.

"Cover the surface with the red fruits jam (not so slim) made of strawberries, raspberries, cherries, or whatever you want."

Place the preparation in the oven again for 40 or 45 minutes; or until the dough gets brown. Remove from the oven, and still warm, cover the surface with the sour cream. Then, let it cool and cover the surface again with the red fruits jam (not so slim) made of strawberries, raspberries, cherries, or whatever you want. After that, store in the fridge to let it cool before you serve.

To enable the cut, cook the cheesecake in a removable mold and enjoy this classic homemade cheesecake.
